- The SG Special is an all Mahogany body with a Maple neck that has the classic 60s Slim Profile.
- The Fingerboard is Rosewood with dot inlays with the 120th Anniversary Logo on the 12th fret. Hardware is chrome and it has the Tune-O-Matic bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece.
- It also has the larger strap pins with the Black Max Grip Speed Knobs. The pickups are the classic Gibson 490R and 490T but with coil tap.
