MOSRITE "Ventures"BASS

MOSRITE “VENTURES” BASS.

NEW IN ORIGINAL CASE.

FROM THE JONAS RIDGE, NC FACTORY

EXTREMELY RARE

BUILT BY SEMIE MOSELEY

(WITH HIS SIGNATURE ON BACK OF HEADSTOCK)

ABOUT THE INSTRUMENT:

You are looking at a NOS (New Old Stock), MOSRITE “VENTURES” BASS from the MOSRITE JONAS RIDGE, NC FACTORY. It is absolutely the best looking Mosrite guitar we have every seen from this period. The finish is a PEARLIZED WHITE that glistens from every direction. It is perfect we believe. And irreplaceable. A true "ONE OF A KIND" collectible guitar.

From the information provided to us, this is a custom Mosrite built in the Jonas Ridge factory sometime in 1982-83. On the rear of the headstock is Semie's signature with a date but all we can make out is 19-- and Mr. G. will not let us touch the screws to remove the tuner to get a better look. This was a special order bass guitar built for RANDY (it appears that the last name of Randy is Moseley as noted on the ticket signed by Semie but we have not been able to verify that information). This name “RANDY” was stamped onto the fretboard as you can see in the pictures here. Along with the guitar is part of the shop ticket for this guitar showing that Semie signed off on the “Finish”, “Hardware”, “Set-Up”, “Test”, and “Approved By”. The owner of this guitar, Mr. G, would not allow us to touch this guitar other than to take pictures and the we wore gloves to do so. We have called this a "Ventures" bass since that seems to be what Semie wrote on the ticket.

1978 Rickenbacker 4080 Double Neck Bass/Guitar

If the economy didn't suck, I'd keep it! It is in excellent condition for a 31 year old, and the only white one (not yellow) I have ever seen in my time playing and collecting guitars and vintage 4's since 1965. I have owned everything at one time or another, and still have have a few. I'm not a dealer, I just sometimes sell a nice guitar or bass when I need money or space. If you go to http://www.rickbeat.com/ for serial numbers, click models, scroll down and click 4080, you will see this one, not one like it, this one! Serial number RJ 5897 (Oct.1978). Includes the OHSC in very good condition, factory installed Schaller strap locks, and a vintage leather strap.

* I went to the Rickenbacker website and all 4080's have bolt on necks with plates.

** ALL OF THE POTS ARE ORIGINAL AND HAVE MATCHING CTS DATE CODES 137 7821. I checked all pots and switches. Perfect operation and no scratch or hum. The pickup cavity is signed JJD 4080 and Frank. The 3 mini toggle switches were in installed at Mick's Guitar Center in Landshudt, Germany on December 9, 1998, as shown by the sticker on the back of the pickguard, which is also shielded. This makes sense, since I bought it from Christian Postl in Germany in 2001. All 3 mini toggles are about tone. They function the same way on the guitar, adding many variations and sounds. The original wiring has not been bothered, and the mini toogle can easily be removed. I would did not, because they add so much to the sound. This is a beautiful instrument!

Learning How To Play Guitar

By: Elijah Fynn
How good a guitar sounds depends on the quality of the guitar; which is also a factor when you are learning to play guitar.

The sound quality produced by your guitar should be good in order that you can learn musical notes at a faster pace. There is no point in learning to play guitar on a poorly made instrument.

Once you learn to create different sounds on your guitar, it becomes your own. Each genre of music also has its own unique sounding style.

Music is a continuation of your emotions. By using music as a medium, you are able to produce sound and emotion which comes directly from you, the artist.

It doesn't matter how old you are, you can learn guitar at any age. There is no age limit as to when or how you should learn guitar. It is also one of the easiest instruments to learn.

Popular instruments in today's world are the trombone, piano, flutes, and guitar. The guitar though, is one of the easiest instruments to carry around. Perhaps this is related to its popularity.

No one can carry a piano around, nor a large drum set, at least with ease. They need quite a bit of space for them to be used properly. Not only this, but they are also extremely expensive.

There are a few ways in which you can learn guitar. Many people choose to learn and master guitar over the internet, or by purchasing a DVD video set. Some folks opt to take lessons from a personal instructor. Either way, the choice is yours.

No matter what kind of guitar you want to start playing on, remember that quality is important. If you do not have enough money for a proper guitar, do not buy a cheap one. Sure it can be fun to play a crummy guitar, but this isn't the right way to learn.

You should shop around first for the different types of guitars available making sure that you choose a quality guitar so that you can find peace and pleasure while playing guitar and feel motivated to produce new sounds.
